Don’t give up on your tooth
A root canal treatment can help save your tooth. The procedure is highly effective and our experienced dentists can inform you whether your tooth can be saved by root canal or if you need to have the tooth removed.
Root canal treatments are divided into 2 or 3 stages.
Stage 1 is accessing the nerve space, removing the infected nerve, and draining any pus that may be present. A dressing is the placed into the nerve space and time is allowed for the nerve space to calm down. This stage will generally relieve your pain and discomfort.
Stage 2 is preparing the nerve space to accommodate the final root canal filling.
The final stage is placing the root canal filling and re-building the crown structure of the tooth.
The procedures can take between 30 minutes to 1.5 hours per appointment, depending on the tooth.
You will receive local anaesthetic to numb the area and ensure things are comfortable for you.
Feel free to bring your headphones, listen to music, or even take a nap- as long as you keep your mouth open!
